• Never try to completely discharge li-ion battery ( below 2.5V ). It will activate safety protection circuit (Over-discharge safety feature) and battery will go into "sleep" mode.

• Do not short circuit. It will activate safety protection circuit (Short-Circuit / Over-Heating prevention feature) and battery will go into "sleep" mode.

Is a 14500 battery the same as AA?

A 14500 battery is a lithium-ion cell that has a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts and can reach 4.2 volts when completely charged. In contrast, a normal Ni-Mh AA battery operates at 1.2 [rechargeable] or 1.5 [non-rechargeable/primary] volts. The significant voltage difference 4.2V against 1.5V can be harmful to equipment, such as flashlights, if incompatible [Li-ion] batteries with a greater [4.2V fully charged] voltage are used. To avoid damage, do not mix or use a 14500 battery with any other AA-sized [Ni-Mh /Ni-Cd] batteries.

Can I use 14500 instead of AA?

The Li-ion 14500 battery is not a replacement for standard rechargeable (or disposable / primary) AA batteries.
